Can Deion Sanders' $300 Nike cleats really rival Michael Jordan's legendary shoe line?

NBA players have a soft spot for sneakers! If you look at legends like Michael Jordan and LeBron James, shoes are one of the things that steal their interests. They have given so much joy to sneakerheads with some charismatic footwear. After all, with the number of sneakers they’ve released, it’s almost like basketball is synonymous with branded sneakers. But lately, American football is sneaking into the picture.

Pushing forward in the sneaker race is the $45M Deion Sanders whose venture became possible with his reputation as a football legend. The 56-year-old began releasing his line of shoes with Nike back in 1993, gaining lots of traction. He recently made waves after selling out the Black/Gold colorway of his DT Max ‘96 sneakers even before launch. And now, with another upcoming release, he has become a worthy competitor in the sneaker race with NBA athletes.

Deion Sanders has released several sneakers with Nike over the years, starting with Air Diamond Turf. Fast forward, he has released several more versions of the shoes which usually sell out quickly. As an X post revealed on August 9, Prime’s latest version of the Air DTs is set to release on “August 16th at select retailers.” This is the DT Max ‘96 version of the Colorado Home colorway featuring white, black, and gold with a price of $300 for the cleat version.

Legendary NBA star Michael Jordan has made quite a name for himself with the Jordan sneaker brand with a total of 38 main flagship models. LeBron James and Kevin Durant have followed suit with their collaboration with Nike. They have released a total of 21 and 16 shoes, respectively. But we have to respect Coach Prime for steadily catching up with his eleven sneakers with Nike.
