The 20-year-old athlete has been making the rounds as one of the best QBs in the NCAA this season and for all the right reasons. Additionally, the fans of the Michigan team have been nothing but dotingly supportive but they won’t be too happy to hear what JJ McCarthy had to say in a recent confession.

The Wolverines have had an outstanding season so far. They currently stand undefeated with a staggering record of 11-0. Beating every team on the table, they are currently contending for the playoffs and stand at the top of the Big Ten league. But while everyone is rejoicing about the team’s performance, JJ McCarthy reveals a secret desire of the past that will leave the jaws of the fans wide open.

JJ McCarthy discloses his past dreams of joining the Ohio State

On the newest episode of the Buckeye Huddle podcast, JJ McCarthy was the guest and talked about his football career so far. When he was asked about who he’d cheer for in a match between Michigan and Ohio as a kid, his answer came off as shocking.

McCarthy answered the question by saying, “I grew up first being an Ohio State fan. I won’t lie. I did. But you know, god had different plans for me and you know, showed me the way. Very blessed and appreciative of being here. That’s for damn sure.” JJ McCarthy has been one of the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy, but after their previous match against the Maryland Terrapins, his odds dropped from +6000 to +25000. Thus, while he prepares his best to get back in the race again, the match between Ohio and Michigan will be one for the ages.

Why is the match between Michigan and Ohio so important?

Both teams have had a tremendous season this year. Though Michigan has seen its fair share of controversies with the case of Jim Harbaugh, the players haven’t failed to perform their best for the team. The Wolverines stand on an undefeated record, but here’s the kicker: so do Ohio State.

The match between Ohio State and Michigan will take place on November 25, and it’ll be the final battle to determine who’s the team worthy of a spot in the playoffs. With tensions being at an all-time high, both sides will be competing for the ultimate bragging rights. Thus, the fans can’t seem to wait as the biggest match of the Big Ten draws closer.
