The College Football Playoffs top four spots have been revealed, and the fans aren’t happy. This season has been an emotional rollercoaster, but finally, it has come to its grandest conclusion yet. With tensions at an all-time high, these are the top four teams that have secured the top four playoff spots.
The Michigan Wolverines took the top-ranked spot, with the Washington team following in a close second. Following that, the Texas Longhorns stand in the third position, while Alabama takes the last open spot. Mike Norvell, the coach for the Florida State Seminoles, will be hugely upset with the rankings, as he was previously heard making a case for his team.

Before the CFP announcements, coach Norvell was seen in an interview listing out all the accomplishments of the team. FSU won over the Louisville Cardinals to become the ACC champions, and thus, it doesn’t add up to how they didn’t make it into the playoffs.
This is what Norvell had to say about his team’s chances in the playoff rankings. He said, “We’ve beat eight Power Five Bowl eligible teams you know, we’ve beat two SEC teams. You see a complete football team and they’ve earned an opportunity and I’m just so proud of them and excited about all that has been accomplished. I got absolute confidence in that we’re going to get our opportunity.” Thus, the Florida team will have to be disappointed today as they wait for the next season to redeem themselves under coach Norvell.
How did the Florida team react to the news of being snubbed?
After the top 3 spots for the playoffs were announced, the Florida team clenched their fists tightly as they waited for their team to be called out in the last announcement. Alas! All the efforts of Norvell and their impeccable performance looked to be in vain as the name of the Alabama team took over.

But while Norvell’s FSU didn’t make it into the playoffs, they have already become a champion in the eyes of the fans. Undoubtedly, the FSU team and the fans will be frustrated, and rightfully so, but the team should be proud of the entirety of the success that they garnered. Furthermore, their unbeatable record will be etched in history as one of the best teams in the 2023 season of the NCAA.
