Michael Penix’s first touchdown heavily questioned
Ja’Lynn Polk’s 29-yard TD pass from Michael Penix Jr. in the second quarter, giving them an extra 7 points to break the tie of 14-14 is under heavy questioning by fans on the internet. Had the move been considered foul, it would have turned out to be a nightmare for the Huskies and a golden opportunity for Texas. However, the Huskies made some passes and kicks that shut everyone right up in the second quarter, leaving no room for any criticism.
The only two monumental moments from the third quarter of Sugar Bowl were Jalen McCillan’s 19-yard TD pass from Michael Penix Jr. and Grady Gross’s 26-yard field goal. Both of there gave Washington a solid 10 point lead from Texas. However, this was not all. Grady Gros continued his field goals against Texas in the fourth quarter with a 40-yard field goal and another 27-yard field goal. Penix might have to share his ‘star of the night ‘ pedestal with Gross.
