Washington Huskies are well set in their dominance over the Texas Longhorns in the Sugar Bowl clash. The second quarter was phenomenal for the Huskies as they established their lead. However, the pass that established the lead has resulted in an uproar in the NFL community, as the experts and enthusiasts are requesting a review of the same.

Although the Huskies made it to the National Championship, it was the second quarter that caused the most uproar on the internet, Michael Penix’s first touchdown of the game, to be more precise.

Ja’Lynn Polk’s 29-yard TD pass from Michael Penix Jr. in the second quarter, giving them an extra 7 points to break the tie of 14-14 is under heavy questioning by fans on the internet. They are of the notion that the QB’s leg was above the line. Hence, considering whether the authorities should consider it a foul or not.

Had the move been considered foul, it would have turned out to be a nightmare for the Huskies and a golden opportunity for Texas. However, the Huskies made some passes and kicks that shut everyone right up in the second quarter, leaving no room for any criticism.

The only two monumental moments from the third quarter of Sugar Bowl were Jalen McCillan’s 19-yard TD pass from Michael Penix Jr. and Grady Gross’s 26-yard field goal. Both of there gave Washington a solid 10 point lead from Texas. However, this was not all. Grady Gros continued his field goals against Texas in the fourth quarter with a 40-yard field goal and another 27-yard field goal. Penix might have to share his ‘star of the night ‘ pedestal with Gross.

Penix’s words after winning the Sugar Bowl

“No we got one more to,” were the proud words of Huskies QB Penix after he was asked the Sugar Bowl being his best game yet. This indicated that Washington is aiming for nothing less than the National Championship this season.

“They all stuck together. These guys are the most resilient guys I’ve ever been around. I just can’t say enough about how much I love them,” confessed he. However, the ultimate test of their resilience would be against Michigan.
