Is Kelli Moore the unsung hero behind Sherrone Moore's rise in Michigan football?

Heard a lot about the Michigan Wolverines? Ever wondered who is behind the main man behind this team? That’s right, it’s interim head coach Sherrone Moore. He has captured the spotlight with his dynamic coaching and leadership. He also contributed a lot in the field and is admired in his professional life, but what about his personal life? 

His wife, Kelli Moore, has been a rock-solid support for him. She isn’t a stranger to the football world. Kelli has been a steadfast presence on Sherrone’s side, attending numerous Michigan games and events. Her enthusiasm and unwavering support are evident, making her a beloved figure within the Michigan football community. “Kelli has been my rock, supporting me through all the highs and lows,” Moore said.

Sherrone and Kelli Moore have shared over a decade of marriage and are now blessed with two children. Their family life is profoundly anchored in faith. Sherrone is truly thankful for his family’s play in his life. “My family is my rock. Even before Sherrone got the opportunity to coach, he was into the game and had a passion for it. HC attended Derby High School in Kansas, where he played football and graduated in 2004. He played junior college football for two seasons at Butler Community College. Sherrone was then transferred to the University of Oklahoma in 2006. He then played 14 games for the Sooners as an offensive guard and finally graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in communication.

He began coaching in 2009. Sherrone joined Michigan as a tight ends coach on Jan 15, 2018. He led the team to victory numerous times, and the Wolverines won the Joe Moore Award in 2021 and 2022. His efforts did not go to waste as he was then promoted to offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator. He was then promoted to the head coach after coach Jim Harbaugh’s departure. He has led the team as his family and continues to make a difference as the Head Coach of the Michigan Wolverines.
