Deion Sanders isn’t letting accusations get him down. Just a week ago, media reports claimed that Coach Prime “threatened” his Buffaloes players into attending his son’s rap concert, citing an anonymous “player source.”

While some jumped on the chance to criticize Deion, most found the allegation ridiculous.  The rumor soon became more of a joke than anything else.

In a locker room speech to his star players, Coach Prime addressed the noise surrounding the program.  He emphasized the team wasn’t playing for “clicks” and delved into NIL and other important topics. “We’re doing this to really teach you and let you understand about media and social media,” Sanders stressed in a “Well Off Media” video. He referred to the Buffs’ online presence as a “platform to answer the bull junk and the fool things they say.”

Speaking of “bull junk,” Deion couldn’t resist a playful jab at the recent allegation. “I’m still mad at y’all that didn’t go watch Shedeur,” he joked, drawing laughter from the players. “How stupid was that?  Good Lord!” The lighthearted moment clearly serves as a sign that the Buffs players, too, are dismissing the bizarre rumors.

Deion then shifted gears, focusing on the future. “We got a bunch of great recruits coming up this weekend,” he announced. “Make sure when you see them, just shake their hands, look them in the eyes, and say ‘what’s up,'” Deion added.

Then, wrapping up the session, Coach Prime struck a serious tone. He urged his players to be honest, express their true feelings openly, and be “accountable” for their words. This could be seen as his way of indirectly addressing the baseless rumors with his signature style. However, he’s not left alone to face these allegations.

How did Deion Sanders & Co. shut down a silly claim?

Deion Sanders’ supporters rallied behind him, turning the situation into a lighthearted affair. Deion himself debunked the rumors on social media, calling it “one of the best lies I’ve heard.” Soon, CU Buffs football governor Camden Dempsey echoed Deion’s sentiment, urging the media to use valid sources. He even stated, “All I can say is this is 100% false.” Now, Coach Prime’s eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., couldn’t help but laugh at the situation. “They basically saying he’s forcing people to listen to his son’s mixtapes?” he joked, calling it “next-level funny.”

Deion Jr. didn’t stop there. He took his camera to the locker room, capturing live denials from the players themselves. Wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. simply said, “Funny asf,” while others confirmed no “mandatory attendance” for the Spring game concert.

Finally, Shedeur Sanders himself cleared the air. He clarified the April concert was a last-minute event, making the accusation even more ridiculous. With each passing day, the rumor faded and was replaced by amusement.
