The son of Coach Prime is being bashed for his snide remark about the exit of a former Colorado player. With this being his last season, Shedeur will be looked to with a lot of expectations to make it to the top of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, his alleged high-horse mentality might be ruining his NFL Draft stock.

Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, comes off as a bit too proud to some because of the way he conducts himself. Earlier, he was a part of the beef with Cormani McClain, who claimed that the Buffaloes were all about “clicks.” Later, Shedeur engaged in a bit of bashing for the youngster by indicating that the team was all the better without him. Now, he has taken a shot at Xavier Smith after his emotional exit from the Buffs.

On the 2nd May episode of the ‘College Football Smothered and Covered’ show, the host, Barrett Sallee, dove deep into the arrogant attitude of Shedeur Sanders that was showcased when he taunted Xavier Smith’s existence in the roster.

One of the tweets from the Athletic quoted Xavier Smith on his iteration of how Deion had been harshly brutal in telling him to enter the spring transfer portal rather than continue with the team. To which, Shedeur replied, “Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best.” The fans thought it was quite a poor statement to make and it displays a very bad sense of leadership as the son of Coach Prime.

Barrett Stalee resonated with the same emotions and said, “I think Shedeur Sanders, with just one tweet, lost himself a lot of money in the NFL draft because even if he goes from number one to number five, that’s a pretty good chunk of change but he also lost a little bit of this year’s team in the process and that’s the culture that Deion Sanders has to fix and it is not easy.

The college community has all been upset with Shedeur’s remarks and joining the side of angry football fans, is Scotty Walden, Smith’s current coach at UTEP.

After the disappointing 2022 season at Colorado, Xavier Smith decided to try his luck out at Austin Peay State University. After a year with the Governors, he transferred to the University of Texas at El Paso, following the footsteps of Scotty Walden who has his HC at both the universities. As such, it makes sense that Walden would want to come out and defend the talent of one of his devout players.

Walden responded to the interaction between Smith and Shedeur’s tweets and wrote, “I coached Xavier at AP and now here at UTEP. He is the furthest thing from soft. He is a great kid/player and led us to a conference title. He answered a question honestly in an interview and was just telling his side. He was a freshman AA and has an extremely bright future on and off the field. I am glad he is on my team- check the tape.

Thus, it looks like the horns are out from the coach’s side and all the while, the image and reputation of the Colorado QB keep getting tarnished which might just lead to his downfall.
