Just before his Colorado Buffaloes visit, Julian Lewis took a blow. Even though the JuJu fever ushered in the Elite 11 finals, ultimately, it made no impact, and the USC Trojans QB lost his MVP award to 4-star Alabama commit QB Keelon Russell. Till then it was okay. But things took an interesting turn as Lincoln Riley came up with a cryptic post.

Since in the post, there is only one emoji and no words, it’s difficult to understand what he truly tried to intend. But it can be believed that something is cooking in the USC HC’s mind to not let Lewis move out of Los Angeles.

During the Elite 11 practice, Lewis turned heads by bringing out his best moves. But in the end, he lost to the Alabama football QB commit Russell who bagged the MVP award on Thursday, June 20. He knocked off 19 other quarterbacks in his class to win the MVP, including three QBs ranked ahead of him, one of them being Lewis. With Russell’s success, the 5-star QB lost his opportunity to emboss his name in the legacy of bigshots like C.J. Stroud and Caleb Williams. While the fans were too busy to decode what led Lewis to lose the title, Riley made an entry with his cryptic post.

Being a man of fewer words, all that Riley chooses to include in his post is a Victory “V” emoji. That’s it. It was enough for fans to realize that he has been coming up with some big plans to keep Lewis with the Trojans. Chances are there that through this tweet he wanted to come off as a threat to Deion Sanders in particular raising a warning for Coach Prime that the fight is on.

Is Riley’s investment in Lewis a game-changer?

This is not the first time that Riley landed a cryptic post. Amidst the rumors of Lewis flipping his commitment to Coach Prime’s Buffaloes, he did ensure to give a shoutout to the Trojans. Donning a No.10  USC jersey JuJu posted a video putting on a pedestal to glide through Trojan’s glory. For the caption, he went all gracious with his remarks, “Where Legends are made and Stars are born”.

What further compounded Deion Sanders’ worry is Riley’s cryptic post that followed where the Trojans HC dropped three “V” emojis. The emoticons came as a scare threat for the Buffs as it signaled that behind the back, the HC has secured a recruiting victory by successfully retaining the five-star QB. Some of his efforts did come to the forefront. It bears noting that Riley is not only a man of his words but rather a man of actions. According to the sources, USC invested in the Carrollton High School QB more than any other school.

Now all eyes are on Lewis. Crucial times lie ahead after the QB visits Boulder on June 21. Will he honor Riley’s sacrifice or will he get allured by Shedeur’s charm and Buffaloes’ lofty presence in the world of college football? Do share your thoughts.
