On July 26th, with the onset of the 2024 Paris Olympics, came the great news of the University of Southern California, setting the record for most players in history to compete in the Paris Olympics. A greater news than that is, the figure is touching the mark of 66! Which is the most from any U.S. University till the time. With that came the proud Lincoln Riley, the HC of the USC Trojans, virtually congratulating all the players who have made it to the point of being a part of the biggest dream festival that any athlete can think of – The Olympics. On July 27th, sharing the proud moment of the whole university, Lincoln shared a USC official page on his Instagram story, with the caption “✌️✌️✌️”. In the post that Lincoln has reposted on his story, slide one proudly says, “66 Olympians, Most of any U.S. University.” The other slides represented players that are part of the big game. USC has this incredible strike rate in sports and everyone has this faith in them that they are going to continue doing so in Paris. Every Summer Olympics since 1912 has featured at least one athlete who attended the University of Southern California (USC) and won a gold medal. The legacy is more than a century old. From players like Rai Benjamin, and Anna Cockrell in Trank and filed to Artem Selin, Minna Abraham, and Anicka Delgado in Swim and Dive to Hannes Daube Tilly Kearns in Water Polo and many others in beach volleyball, rowing, and athletics, the game is on!

Are other universities striking too?

Have an interesting take?

NCAA student-athletes form a great part of the Olympics every time, but the bar is set a bit higher this time with more than 1,000 current, former, and incoming NCAA athletes being a part of the 2024 Summer Olympics. Out of these 1,000 around 400 of them are from the Team USA. The rest of them are set off to other countries to bet on gold and nothing less.

Speaking of another record-setting University next to USC is Stanford University with as many as 60 Olympians, out of which 14 are current athletes. They would be competing in 20 varsity sports. Stanford has a high level of Olympic representation even though their basketball or football team is not ‘that’ famous, Standford is shining in other sports. They are often at the top when it comes to measuring how good their overall sports teams are, which is called the Capital One Cup.

With that, the expectations are high from the U.S. Universities, with them stepping in the 2024 Summer Olympics. Let us just hope that the best player wins.
