Deion Sanders and his shades can never go wrong. In the Colorado Buffaloes head coach’s style statement, shades are indispensable. However, he has always rooted for Blenders as the ultimate sunglass brand.
Recently, as he talked to Buffaloes’ assistant athletic trainer, Lauren Askevold, during the training, Sanders exhibited his favoritism toward Blenders over Ray-Ban. Not many know that Coach Prime even used a brutal jab in the field, pulling off a marketing stunt for the $90 million sunglass brand.

So, ahead of the Black and Gold Day, from players to staff, not a single person can catch a breath. Taking the grounds in broad daylight, sunglasses are a necessity. But hardly did Askevold expect Sanders to strike up a conversation with her regarding sunglasses. As the trainer waited on the sidelines holding some refreshments, Coach Prime came up to her, saying, “Excuse me, excuse me I got to get you some shades. I don’t like them, let me see you stunting them for a minute. Love them little funky shades you got on.”
She then takes off her RayBan shades to try out Sanders’ Blenders. Being impressed by how Askevold looked with his shades, the coach could not help but flaunt his pairs. Claiming that these are some new styles that he is sporting, the CU trainer asked him, “Still Blenders up?” To which Sanders confidently replied, “Yeah, oh definitely. I don’t cheat on Blenders.” A day earlier, the coach threw an open challenge to take over his opponents and uniquely celebrate the victory.

Last season ended on a disappointing note for Sanders’ Buffaloes. However, this time, Coach Prime has his blood boiling to make a vibrant comeback. Chatting with another coach during the practice, the Buffs HC devised a plan, “Not only we going to kick their b**t, we’re going to take over their Stadium. We going to have every kid I’m going to ask every kid from they going to come in there with shades on. I’m asking every kid I want you wear your shade.”
In late 2019, the brand, valued at $90 million, was acquired by an Italian eyewear company, the Safilo Group. They then collaborated with Deion Sanders since the Blenders CEO, Chase Fisher’s father, had always been his fan. Once Sanders teamed up with the brand, he celebrated by gifting new pairs to the players.

This time, too, is no exception, as Sanders wishes to use the rivalry to escalate the production of Blenders sunglasses. The last time Coach Prime threw the open challenge to CSU Rams, the brand sent glasses to the Buffaloes team and gathered $5 million in sales.
