Is Jay Norvell's criticism of Deion Sanders justified, or is he just bitter about his own shortcomings?

Tension is in the air! And it stems from CSU HC Jay Norvell’s bizarre statement on Deion Sanders at Mountain West Media Day. But one former Colorado player can’t stand Norvell’s thoughts on Coach Prime.

On July 11, Norvell made a stinging remark on the Buffs HC saying he has no feelings for Deion Sanders.” But with his rough history with the Buffs’ HC, people are left wondering if there’s any truth behind his statement. This time, the pre-football tension is reignited with Norvell’s infamous quote.

Former Colorado player Matt McChesney has an epic comeback at Jay Norvell’s dig on Deion Sanders. In the latest YouTube episode on Zero 2 Sixty Podcast on BLEAV NETWORK on July 20, he said, “Let’s be real here… You’re not thinking about Coach Prime? Sure seems like he’s thinking about Coach Prime to me. Your face and your body language and your ‘well I’m not thinking about Coach Prime’ that s*** sure looks like you’re thinking about him to me.

This comment came after Norvell’s dig on Deion Sanders when he said, “I don’t have any feelings for Deion Sanders, I really don’t. I don’t think about Deion Sanders unless you guys ask me a question about him.” The animosity between CU and CSU began last season when Norvell targeted Deion Sanders with the Sunglass & Hat fiasco. Norvell trolled Coach Prime saying, “When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat and glasses off.” The personal rivalry began when Sanders responded, “Now it’s personal.” But it looks like Norvell is prepared to face them every year.

Jay Norvell voices his desire for the rivalry game

This isn’t a new clash between the head coaches of the University of Colorado and Colorado State as their rivalry takes on a personal stand. For Norvell, it’s not the end as he said during his press conference, “It’s been a special game for a long time to the people of Colorado. I do wish we played them every year because it’s a rivalry game.”

One of the two coaches will have the last say this season when their teams meet at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins on September 14. Who do you think will have the upper hand in the upcoming game? Will Coach Prime silence Norvell like last season when CU triumphed over CSU by beating them 43-35 after the dig? Or would there be a change in the luck of the programs? Let’s wait and watch.
