Not to mention all the criticism Prime faced for his ‘different’ way of recruiting players through only campus visits and no school or home visits. Fans were severely questioning his ways but Deion Sanders had complete confidence in himself and the image he has built.

The legendary CU head coach, who handled the reins of Buffs from 1999 to 2005, believes that it would all boil down to depth this season. Correcting the previous season’s mistakes of the O-line. “It’s gonna come down to different systems. However, with the new recruits, Colorado is aiming to rectify this for their upcoming season. At the end of the day, all the Colorado players need to buckle up. The optimism surrounding Colorado’s roster being better is there, but they are yet not sure about “how much” better the roster is. McLaughlin’s question on Locked On the Buffs aptly summarized the question lurking in everyone’s head: “But to say you’re going to go from a four-win team even with the number of offseason moves they’ve made to contending in the Big 12. Do not see it.”

Hence, expecting Colorado to go completely flawless this season and that they will do everything perfectly is just too much. It will be better than last year, yet some mistakes might take a toll on them on-field. McLaughlin expects the score to go 9-3, given everything goes perfectly for Colorado. And even if the dreams of Deion Sanders and Co. reaching the National Championship have now started brewing, it will be a long journey to reach there.
