The 2nd best team in the SEC West division has a chance to go through all the way this season. If only they could make their way past teams like Alabama and Georgia. Lane Kiffin has been in the program for the past 3 seasons now, and hopefully, ends up becoming the conference champions in his 4th.
Lane Kiffin, the HC for the Ole Miss Rebels, had his most successful season last year with a record of 11-2. Since the beginning of his career in 2020, his records have been- 5-5, 10-3, 8-5, and now, 11-2. The 2 losses that they incurred came only from Nick Saban’s Alabama and Kirby Smart’s Georgia. But now that the legendary Nick Saban has left the league, this might be the best time for Kiffin to capitalize on the situation.

On the 8th June episode of the On3 show, Andy Staples and J.D. Pickell came together to talk about why Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss can dominate the SEC in 2024. Additionally, Staples talked about how Kiffin’s team is one of the very teams that haven’t made it yet but have a chance to drastically improve their game this season.
As per Staples, Ole Miss could make the CFP playoffs even without beating Georgia but they’ll have to depend on the talent in the roster to help them reach the national championship. He said, “I think it’s Ole Miss because this is a team that would have made the 12-team playoff last year but still had the same issues that the Lane Kiffin teams of the past have had. They lost to Nick’s Alabama, they lost to Kirby Smart’s Georgia. That has to change for them. They have to be able to beat one of those teams to get where they’re going.” Thus, the team has a good prospect of making it big in the SEC conference this year, with only Georgia at the forefront of its troubles. Moreover, Kiffin has done a tremendous job at adding players from the transfer portal, which keeps strengthening the performance of the roster.
Two new additions to the Ole Miss team
The Ole Miss Rebels have been relentless under Kiffin when it comes to the transfer portal. More often than not, he is called the Portal King, since he continues to load up on talents for the upcoming season. He has brought in two new talents to the team, which is surely going to add to the team’s overall performance.
Kiffin added a commitment from Southern Illinois Izaiah Hartrup this month, who is a 6-foot tall 183-pound WR. Next, he also added North Texas WR Jordan Smart to the team, who tallied 19 catches for 230 yards last season. Undoubtedly, Ole Miss looks to be a promising team this season and if things go their way, we could very well witness them in the CFP top 4 this year.
