Ohio-born LeBron James supporting Colorado—what happened to loyalty to home state teams?

The EA Sports College Football 25 video game has hyped lots of fans with high anticipation for its upcoming release. But while fans are yet to get hands-on experience with the game, a select few are already playing the game, including NBA legend LeBron James and 2x Streamer of the Year Kai Cenat.

On Monday night, Kai Cenat was checking out the game when he got a call from none other than the Lakers star as uploaded by GUCCE on X. The post reads, “LeBron James calls Kai Cenat on Stream while playing EA College Football 25 early.” According to the post, the 4x NBA champion is “currently playing as Colorado.”

This information sparked the interest of many fans who expressed both positive and negative reactions. In particular, an X user couldn’t contain their jealousy of James getting the game early and tweeted, “This shid lame af. Why this n***a Bron get the game early?? @EASPORTSCollege.” Even Coach Prime hasn’t received early access to the game

As the video indicated, Kai Cenat received confirmation that LeBron James “only plays as Ohio State or Colorado.” His interest in Ohio State isn’t surprising as he’s an Ohio native who even admitted he would’ve been a Buckeye if he joined college basketball instead of diving straight into the league after high school. But his allegiance to Deion Sanders and Colorado birthed a flurry of mixed reactions from fans who expressed their honest opinions in the comments section.

CFB fans share their reactions on LeBron James playing Colorado

After the team revelation, one X user dropped their speculation on how LeBron James must have gotten early access to the game because he’s playing Colorado posting, “So that’s what it takes to get the mf early? Be Lebron. Let me get on that.

Another person hinted at the possibility of the NBA legend trying to capitalize from his decision saying, “Bron be doing side missions.”

But there are GOAT fans who wholly stood up for LeBron James, saying, “Goat James has spoken.”

Another fan lauded both Deion Sanders and LeBron James as they commented, “Goat recognize goat.”

With James on their side, an enthusiastic Buffs fan exuded hope as they posted, “If Lebron is on our side who care about what the haters got to say.

Putting these reactions aside, LeBron James and Kai Cenat have exciting things planned as they’re reportedly working together to schedule a dual stream for EA CFB 25. Stay tuned for more updates in the near future!
