The CFB is leading towards the conclusion of yet another season with its first Bowl game in place. The SoFi Stadium at LA Bowl is lighted up and decorated not because of the festivities, but a showdown that is nothing less than a festival each year since 2021. However, this year, it is expected to be even more pageantry-worthy, with Rob Gronkowski ready to charm the crowd as the host.

And yet, the primary focus here is the UCLA Bruins and the Boise State Broncos. The 7-5 member of Pac-12 vs. the coming-in-too-hot Mountain West champions 8-5 Broncos. Well, each team having an identical loss ratio makes the thrill ever heightened. Speaking of their previous games, however, it is not so identical.

With the doors of the transfer portal wide open, teams are unsure about the replacement of vacant positions. Former Boise State QB Taylen Green announced his commitment to Arkansas, hence, CJ Tiller is expected to start in his place. Bruins are in no better condition, as QB Dante Moore is also enrolled in the transfer portal. As a result, either Ethan Garbers or Kent State transfer, Collin Schlee might start.

UCLA or Broncos: History and prediction

This game will mark the second meet of the teams after they clashed in 1999 in the Rose Bowl, a game that UCLA proudly boasts about to date. However, times have drastically changed. Despite the head coach Andy Avalos getting fired in November just a month from the LA Bowl, the Broncos still made three post-season wins. All thanks to interim coach Spencer Danielson, making him the first interim coach to win a divisional title in FBS history, resulting in him getting a permanent coaching role. Hence, another win would surely be on the list for Danielson.

Chip Kelly, on the other hand, is trying hard to not focus on the rumors related to his job, and his being replaced. To shut it down at once, Kelly needs this victory. Under Kelly, the team has already lost a post-season game and regressed from the previous year’s 9 wins to 8 this time. Bruins, especially Kelly, having invested their blood and sweat in this, would be coming in with motivated spirits, while the Broncos are coming in with a fiery head coach.
