It still feels like yesterday when Nick Saban said that he thinks Georgia and Texas are gonna make it to the SEC national championships. Learning from Saban himself, Kirby Smart has made the Bulldogs a force to be reckoned with. Smart even went against Saban back in 2022 and still managed to grab the SEC Cup against all odds. With Carson Beck at the helm, mixed in with Smart’s mastery of the defense, the Bulldogs are all set to impress this 2024 season.

And while dad’s out there making a name in college football, son’s is over here rocking the world with his home runs. Well, that’s Kirby Smart’s son Andrew Smart for y’all folks. With the Little League World Series on the way, Andrew was spotted hitting a solid home run for his team. On August 2nd, College Sports Only took to X to share the highlight. “Kirby Smart’s son, Andrew, looking like Georgia slugger Charlie Condon in the Little League World Series!” they captioned the video. Rocking the Georgia jersey, the little man looks a hell lot like Georgia player Charles Merrill Condon.

Andrew’s home run secured a major win for his team. Georgia went on for an 8-6 victory against North Carolina and would then go on to play against the loser of the Virginia-Tennessee match. With everything that has been going wrong for Kirby Smart after RaRa Thomas’s arrest, the HC needed this small win under his cap. However, with Rara dismissed from the team, will Kirby Smart be able to hold on to the “Next Nick Saban” title, or will it be taken away by someone else?

The perfect opponent

Kalen DeBoer, on the other side, has been growing up to become the next big thing. With a solid offense line ready, the Crimson Tide under DeBoer’s offensive mastery is a team to be feared. Not only that, even on August 1st, DC Kane Wommack came out to reveal that the offense ain’t the only element that’s gonna surprise everyone. The strong defense with Keon Sabb and Malachi Moore, Wommack is quite confident that the team has it all right now. “Keon is a very special talent. We were very fortunate to be able to have that,” Wommack said during an interview.

Aside from this, what differentiates DeBoer from Smart is his ability to get to know his players. Amidst the RaRa drama, many flaws were exposed about Georgia. The biggest is the culture present on the team. There have been a total of 29 arrests (staff and players) combined. With no definite steps being taken by Smart or the UGA, things are looking dire. While in the Tides, DeBoer has spent extensive time getting to know his team. From handing out his number to everyone to spending quality time in the locker room. He has done everything in his power to ensure that his players behave well on and off the field. With how things are doing, DeBoer is pretty sure taking the “Nick Saban” title home.
