Kirby Smart finds himself in a precarious position. Don’t get us wrong, Smart is in the best position of his professional life. After all, it’s not every season that he gets awarded the best head coach this season by ESPN. It’s his personal life where he is facing a big dilemma (also how the blurred lines between his personal and professional life are causing all the chaos, but more on that in a minute).

Kirby Smart’s youngest son, Andrew, is drawing all the attention to himself for the wrong reasons. Going yard on Monday in an all-important elimination clash against Tennessee in the Southeast Regional in the 2024 LLWS, Andrew assumed nothing, literally. The pitcher of the 2023 class missed a few vital catches in the game, propelling their opponents, Goodlettsville Little League, to an 11-6 win and advancing them to the finals.

Mason Eakes walked to start the seventh and chased Andrew Smart, son of Georgia football coach Kirby Smart, from the mound after 3 2/3 innings. The game was vital for the Georgia fans, but it was even more important since they were looking at the future players on their team for 2030. Smart’s poor performance was a let-down for them, infuriating them. The fans didn’t hold back on hurling criticisms at the father-son duo.

Fans laugh at Kirby Smart after son’s poor performance

As usual, fans did not mince their words when expressing their disappointment. This time, however, the words were a tad too fiery as Kirby Smart is looking down the expectations of coaching a National Championship contending team. Fans were mocking Smart, calling him out for his son’s performance.

“Kirby smart shoved in a locker yet again,” said a fan. On the other hand, fans stormed the comment section, believing that now Kirby Smart will solely focus on the upcoming season as his son is out of his tournament. “Thank goodness. I was worried Kirby was going to have to take some focus off of football over the next month. Now he’s locked in,” wrote another fan.

Further, some fans were coming in with a sense of vengeance as they believed Kirby Smart would settle his son’s records with Tennessee on the NCAA football grounds. “Kirby Smart about to hang 50+ on Tennessee for this now.”

The fans didn’t leave behind their rude sides, too, as they commented things like, “@KirbySmartUGA tell your kid he sucks,” and “Suck it Georgia.” While Andrew’s performance does not correlate with Smart’s on-field performance since both father-son are in different sports, fans are not going easy on the two.
