They say, one man’s suffering is another man’s pleasure. While it may sound like bad news to the Washington Huskies, Shedeur Sanders and co. may be welcoming a 6’1, 270-pounder in their threshold if things go well. But how is this turn in the events possible?

Everything seems to be in a whirlwind since Nick Saban’s retirement announcement on January 10, with the Huskies as one of the immediate programs to be impacted. Washington just lost their former HC Kalen DeBoer who moved to Alabama to take Nick Saban’s previous position. And with more changes in the coaching staff, a Washington commit might be on the verge of leaving his frustration behind by joining Coach Prime in Colorado.

A recent Twitter update on Colorado visit news has an interesting revelation by former ASU EDGE transfer BJ Green II. The star EDGE has shown interest in Coach Prime’s Colorado Buffs in his decision to visit the program this week. The reason is that Washington is undergoing “major coaching changes.”

BJ Green II was a former Arizona State Sun Devils defensive lineman who announced his decision to commit to Washington in December 2023. He’s one of the nation’s top pass-rushers, appearing in all 12 ASU games and finishing 2023 with 8.0 sacks and 57 QB pressures. He accounted for an 83.4 pass-rush grade and a 14% pass-rush win rate. But with HC Kalen DeBoer leaving for Alabama and changes in their coaching staff continuing, he may have other intentions.

Washington’s coaching staff undergoes major changes

With the most prominent coach transfer being Kalen DeBoer joining Alabama as HC, former Arizona HC Jedd Fisch just took his place as the Huskies HC. The news was announced by UW Director of Athletics Troy Dannen on January 14. With Fisch as the new HC, he also brought with him former Arizona OC and OL coach Brennan Carroll who will resume the same roles at Washington.

Another coach he brought with him to Washington is running backs coach Scottie Graham who served Arizona for three seasons before his Washington leap. While these new coaches have their hype and reputation, it’s still a risk factor for a new commit to place their full confidence in an abrupt coaching change. We can’t blame BJ Green II for wanting to stick to a team that has more coach consistency than Washington and for him, that place could be in Colorado with Shedeur Sanders and the Buffs.
