Will Alexis DeBoer live up to her father's legacy with the Washington Huskies? What do you think?

As Alabama HC Kalen DeBoer diligently prepares to ace the SEC race, his daughter Alexis DeBoer is also making significant strides. The Washington Huskies better keep up, as DeBoer’s daughter has joined their softball program. July 9th marked Alexis DeBoer’s first day at the UW camp.

This has been a cause for celebration as Alexis DeBoer took to Instagram to share a story about her debut. The Crimson Tide’s HC’s daughter will be among the six-player class under Coach Heather Tarr as the Huskies plan to move into the Big Ten.

The softball program faced challenges after eight team members entered the transfer portal. However, under Tarr’s guidance, the Huskies quickly rebounded. According to sources, as the program pursues its Big Ten dreams, they signed a promising 2024 freshman class, which includes Kalen DeBoer’s daughter. The six-player class was ranked No. 13 in the country by Extra Innings Softball.

Crimson Tide HC’s daughter, Alexis DeBoer found herself lucky to be a part of Washington, the program her father had coached for a while. Resharing one of her teammates’ stories with the message pinned on it,  “UW CAMP DAY 1!!” she celebrated her first day sweating it off with the squad.

Sources reveal that Alexis DeBoer was ranked as the No. 11 player in the 2024 class. Coach Tarr expressed pride in securing her commitment, stating, “She brings experience and strength to our lineup.  She’s an athletic, corner infielder with some big power in her bat. Being a daughter of a coach is something we value in our program…We look for Alexis to make an immediate impact on Husky Softball, not only on the field but off the field as well.” The team celebrated her arrival enthusiastically.

Washington embraced Alexis DeBoer with a warm reception

The Huskies too rolled out a red carpet for Alexis DeBoer. Her teammate, Sophi Mazolla, posted a picture on Instagram with a “house emoji” as the caption. This post was later shared by Becky Go Huskies! page on Twitter, with the message, “One of the top freshmen is on campus.”

It was a dream come true for Alexis DeBoer, who had long admired the Washington Huskies. On February 21, she posted a poster from the NCAA Softball page featuring NCAA Digital Host Michell Chester’s Power 10 rankings with the caption, “DAWGS BABY (purple hearts).” After signing with the Huskies in 2023 and graduating from Bellevue High School, she is ready to bring positive change to the team.

All kudos to Alexis DeBoer for her impressive junior year records, hitting 14 home runs with an average of 0.683. Times are crucial as Washington now holds a 21-2 overall record, seeking their first national title under Coach Tarr since 2009.
