Kalen DeBoer is finally getting some players to commit to Alabama after a huge number of players entered the transfer portal. And it looks like his former players at Washington are interested in joining their ex-HC as he puts on Nick Saban’s shoes. A recent 4-star QB transfer to Alabama is currently a hot topic as it could change the decision of the starting QB Jalen Milroe.
With Nick Saban gone, it’s upon DeBoer’s hands now to bring in players who can make up for the string of players who entered the transfer portal. Austin Mack isn’t the only Washington player to commit to Alabama because there is another player from Washington joining the Crimson Tide. Check out the details below.

Not many were aware that the 21-year-old Alabama starting QB Jalen Milroe was NFL draft-eligible. But he is ready to enter the pro level in 2024, and if he does draft for the pro league, he could be a second or third-round pick. However, he has decided to remain in college football for another season. But that decision was made before Nick Saban’s sudden retirement and he hasn’t spoken much ever since.
Now, with the arrival of former Washington red-shirt freshman Austin Mack, the question that creeps up is whether Milroe will remain for another season under DeBoer or if he’ll declare for the NFL Draft. Milroe will still be the team’s starting QB for the season but with so many key players already leaving the program, Milroe’s decision to join the NFL can’t be unexpected.

Alabama secures their third Washington player
The SEC leader is seemingly looking like a Pac-12 team with the changes in the roster, at least that’s what fans on X are discussing. After some deliberation, former Washington WR/kick returner Germie Bernard has announced his commitment to join Kalen DeBoer and Alabama. He may be a Pac-12 player, but what’s a mere title compared to skills and stats?

Germie Bernard became the second transfer portal commitment in two days. With him, Kalen DeBoer has now signed three of his former Huskies, including QB Austin Mack and center Parker Brailsford. The 6’1, 203-pounder finished 34 catches for 419 yards and two TDs in his sole season at Washington. His arrival is welcome because Alabama has already lost several receivers who either joined the NFL or entered the portal.
