It is definitely hard to live up to Nick’s 17-year legacy that everyone looks up to. But the pressure remains to keep it up, as it should. While the existing style will exist, Kalen is believed to bring in more of his coaching style too. Which might bring healthy harmony to the team and the overall program. In a tweet, Ryan C. Fowler gave us a bit of the insider news that he got. On Wednesday he tweeted, “Sources tell me that Alabama’s 1st fall practice will be on July 31st and players will report on July 30th. Remember, Alabama will transition into a morning practice team starting with fall camp. We are 29 days away from Alabama’s 1st fall practice 60 days away from Alabama vs. WKU”. A clear sign of the possible changes in practice camp that we can see going ahead.

On June 28th during his appearance at Next Up with Adam Breneman, Kalen was seen telling about a possible change that he would bring in for the players this season. He said, “I am a big morning practice guy, so I used to love that, get on with the rest of your day…we’re gonna go to morning practices, so that’s a little different. I am sure the guys will love it.” Kalen also mentioned that the fact that Saban has been there for the last 17 years building up a legacy, most of the things will remain traditional. As the staff remains the same, there will not be any major changes. This will also help the players to settle in with Kalen and his coaching techniques quite easily.

Kalen’s way of moving forward

While he very well knows that he can not possibly swipe Saban’s 17-year-old legacy out of the team’s blood, he for sure also understands how important it is to keep it intact. Yet he is still bringing in a few of his coaching methods while moving forward. Like the one-morning practice routine that we will see in this coming season as the clock ticks for the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS season with Alabama’s first match on 31st of August 2024 with Western Kentucky University.

Talking of Nick’s strategies during his coaching tenure, he emphasized a lot on the training part. He always believed that want to be the best, you will always have to look the best. By which he meant, knowing your style and being consistent towards it. That is the only way to excel, to know what you are really good at and then practice it with all your heart. We might also see Kalen making the players abide by it.

With all the news going around about the possible change and the very awaited 2024 season, hopes are high. Let’s get ready for it!
