2024 has been a rough year. Right back in April, we had lost Keith Miller III, and it was a rough time for the Buffs and all the people close to Keith. Then we lost legend Monte Kiffin. Kiffin had spent more than 3 decades coaching in the NFL. Ole Miss had announced that Kiffen had passed away at 84. Now we are getting the news Former Alabama player Terrance Howard passed away.

Nick Kelly took to X to share what Kalen DeBoer had to say about the incident. “Before I make comments on the team, I do want to send along thoughts and prayers,” DeBoer had mentioned. Howard had moved to North Carolina after playing for the Tides for a while. The entire crash happened a week before. Howard had gotten into a minor traffic accident. When he got out of his car to check on the other driver, he was reportedly hit by a third oncoming vehicle. He had sustained critical injuries and was hospitalized back in Charlotte where he later passed away. The 19-year-old had to spend 10 days in a medically induced coma, post-accident.

Rick LaFavers, former Ridge Point coach, also came out to share his condolences. “He had so much in front of him, and he was such a competitor,” LaFavers mentioned during an interview. Howard had graduated from Ridge Point back in 2022. As per LaFavers, Howard was amazing at all the competitive drills and did amazing as a cornerback, and his stats from the high school level prove it.

Gone too soon

Back in Ridge Point, Howard’s skills as a CB were quite visible. He took the team to a victory as a junior with an impressive 11-2 record. Howard also managed to grab the district title with a solid record of 7-0. That’s not all. He had 41 tackles and 8 pass breakups under his belt already. Howard also came second in 400m with a personal record of 48.75. While he never got to play a match with Tides, he was present there when the team made it to the SEC championship and also the Rose Bowl playoffs.

Terrion Arnold, former Alabama CB, also took to his Instagram to share his condolences. “Can’t believe they would do you like that, bro. RIP,” Arnold wrote in his story. It is a fact that every Bama fan out there will hold a light-up to Howard. Let’s hope he finds peace wherever he goes.
