Julian Lewis is one of the hottest names in Boulder and perhaps in all college football. He’s proven his 5-star status with impressive feats and growing hype around his name.

Last year, the 2025 5-star recruit committed to Lincoln Riley’s USC Trojans. However, recognizing his worth, he visited multiple schools, including Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes. Things are looking positive for the Buffs, as the QB seems likely to change his commitment to them. Everyone’s waiting to see what he’ll do, and he’s making it even harder to decide by being excellent at football camps.

On August 4, Rivals.com posted, “@julianlewis10 slinging it with ease at Rivals Five-Star in Jacksonville!” The post showcased Lewis making precise and impressive throws at the Rivals camp, adding to his coveted status. Now, amid his visits to various schools, Lewis has also participated in numerous camps.

Since June, he’s participated in both the Elite 11 camp and Rivals camp, displaying his impressive skills. Though fellow quarterback Keelon Russell shined brighter at the Elite 11 camp, earning the MVP title, Lewis was not far behind. He was ranked the 7th best quarterback in the Elite 11 finals and earned the title “most accurate quarterback.” He even achieved the Perfect 50 at the Elite 11 event last month, a feat previously accomplished by the Texans QB CJ Stroud. 

Despite these back-to-back recognitions, On3 and 247Sports platforms downgraded him to a 4-star quarterback. However, the talent behind the stars is undeniable. That’s why, despite the snub, Coach Prime is eager to land him. And Lewis, too, seems to reciprocate the interest, hinting at a likely switch from Riley & Co.

Julian Lewis looks set to ditch USC for Colorado

Deion Sander really has the hunger to land Julian Lewis on his team. It’s no exaggeration, as he went out to impress the 5-star quarterback when he visited Boulder this June. The whole town got involved; even the local “Sink” burger named a double cheeseburger after him.

Not only that, but the icing on the cake was a photo shoot of Lewis with the Buffs’ star quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. Deion is trying to land Lewis because Shedeur is heading to the NFL next year. The team even made a poster of Shedeur handing over the “keys to the kingdom” to Lewis. But there’s more to come — Lewis’ dad also dropped some major hints.

The QB’s dad, TC Lewis, posted a cryptic message on social media this August. He said, “No matter how it plays out and regardless of what he ultimately decides this journey has truly been special.” Now, he hasn’t openly stated whether his son’s journey will begin with Deion or Riley, but he dropped a cryptic hint by posting a picture of himself and the QB at the Buffs’ iconic Folsom Field. It looks like the Deion-Julian combo is sure to be watched next season!
