The week has finally arrived—Julian Lеwis, the highly prized 5-star QB committed to USC, is giving his final shot at Colorado and Deion Sanders. Recently, the USC commit has been heavily involved in USC activities and with head coach Lincoln Riley, causing speculation about whether Lеwis sees USC as his last college football division. However, as we know, Coach Primе and Colorado have been eyeing Lеwis as the perfect successor to Shedeur Sanders in the draft in 2025.
On that note, in his June 19th interview with 247Sports, Lewis affirms that he is “still locked in with USC.” However, he also added that his upcoming visit to CU would finalize his transfer decisions once and for all. “That’s still my plan—to try and get it over with now, so I can focus on my last year,” Lеwis told 247Sports. With that in mind, it looks like Deion Sanders has one final golden opportunity to sway Lеwis from Rilеy’s program this week!

On June 19th, Coloradoan writer Scott Proctor informed the college football community that Julian Lewis was set to visit Boulder on June 21st. “Julian Lewis will be back in Colorado Friday for one of the biggest recruiting weekends in program history,” Proctor wrote in the caption, attaching his article on the same matter.
According to the article in Coloradoan, top-tier recruits, including four-star prospects and Class of 2025 commits to the Buffaloes, will be in Boulder on June 21 for official visits just before the NCAA football dead period, which starts on June 24 and lasts until July 24. Lewis, being one of those blue-chip recruits and the No. 1 QB in his class, is set to visit during the same week alongside other top recruits.
Moreover, On3’s national recruiting analyst Phillip Dukes told the Coloradoan in May that “Colorado has a real shot of landing Julian Lewis.” While USC is a strong choice for Lewis given their track record of producing top draft picks like Chicago Bears’ QB Caleb Williams, Colorado offers a unique advantage with its rare celebrity status in college football.

He won’t be the only highly-touted recruit in Boulder.

Deion Sanders himself, a big celebrity, and Shedeur Sanders’ high-profile status in the NIL chart with $4.6 million earnings make Colorado an attractive option. “I think Colorado has a better than good shot,” Dukes added. “I couldn’t put odds on it, but I think it is very real.” Furthermore, Proctor’s article suggests that a couple of Buffs commits from the 2025 class will be present during Lewis’s visit to help Deion Sanders & Co.

Linebacker Mantraz Walker from Buford, Georgia, and tight end Corbin Laisure from Bluff City, Tennessee, are the ones chosen for this process. Walker, a three-star LB prospect, was specifically chosen because he is reportedly good friends with Lewis and could play a key role in persuading the five-star QB from USC to commit.
“I’ve known JuJu [Julian Lewis] since we were young,” Walker stated, as per the article. “We played for the same little league team. Me and him have been tight for a minute.” Additionally, sources say Lewis isn’t the only recruit; Sanders and his staff hope to secure a commitment this weekend. One of them is Chauncey Gooden, a 6-foot-4, 320-pound OL and a four-star recruit out of Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee.

Gooden posted a screenshot back in March of a FaceTime call with Sanders with the caption “#SkoBuffs.” Besides CU, Gooden’s list of the top 10 schools includes Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Missouri, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Other notable recruits include wide receivers Quanell X Farrakhan Jr. from The Woodlands (Texas) High School and Evan Haynes from Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, Georgia. However, the main focus is definitely on Julian Lewis and the decision he makes after his final CU visit.
