One of the most sought-after QBs in college football has as his beck, a drastic call to make. The Greeks lure away the promised soldier in this story, that is Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes. The Buffs’ fans would desperately hope for Juju Lewis’ decision to flip his commitment from USC and judging by the positive affirmations his father had for Coach Prime, the Boulder team could just welcome the QB soon.
Coach Prime isn’t leaving any stone unturned to bring Juju’s talents to Colorado. Upon his third visit to Boulder, he did a magnificent photoshoot with Shedeur Sanders where the 5-star prospect was being handed the keys to the team. Next, after the 99-year-old Buffs fan Peggy Coppom requested a special burger to be named after Lewis, the frenzy has been at an all-time high in celebration of the possibility of him joining the team. Deion has made the speculations official by extending him an offer letter of a full scholarship, which might just tempt the USC commit to play under the might of Coach Prime and the Buffaloes.

Deion has ensured that he shares a great relationship with the families of all the recruits that come to Boulder and in the case of Lewis, it’s no different. Carlton had amazing praise to share about Deion and drew comparisons on how both he and the HC are fathers to quarterbacks. Additionally, Carlton defined the program and his take on Deion with one simple word- “genuine”, which is an interesting clap back to all the Colorado haters who have relentlessly deemed that the team is fake and plays for nothing but “clicks.”
Forming a strong bond 💪🏾 takes similarities… @TCarltonLewis, @DeionSanders & @IamPatShurmur are all QB fathers. Second, TC said the players @CUBuffsFootball are genuinely happy 😊! 2 factors that have positioned CU as a home foe @JuJuLewis10!#wewantjuju pic.twitter.com/6AStFEv3pB

A highly unknown fact about T.C. Lewis and Deion is that they both share amazing chemistry together. T.C. and Deion have known each other for years now and seeing as how they’re family friends at this point, this could be a big factor in bringing his son to Boulder. Plus, with Shedeur leaving for the NFL next year, Lewis would get to be the next star QB in the team and get to be subjected to all the fame and the riches that Deion’s son currently adorns himself with, making his transfer to Colorado, a perfect union.
During his assessment of his trip to the campus, Lewis had a lot of praise for the player relations within the squad and the sort of camaraderie they shared. He said, “I think the thing that you take away from that, the more you’re around that program, is it’s genuine. There’s a lot of kids there. It’s probably one of the happiest groups of kids I’ve seen.” Thus, this evaluation of his could point to a direction that sees Lewis come to Colorado and also strengthen the ties that T.C. and Deion currently share. As for now, he’s being defamed by On3 in terms of ranking and none other than Coach Prime came to his rescue with positivity.

Lewis has been widely known for his exceptional talents and a rocket of a throwing arm, all of which, make him a rightly ranked 5-star QB. But after he became the second QB after CJ Stroud to record a perfect score at the Elite 11, somehow his ranking was dropped by On3 as well as 247Sports. Both the sites now rate him as a 4-star prospect, which is far from the true potential that Lewis holds.
After this ambiguous ranking, Deion took to X to voice out his opinion while defending Lewis’ talents. Without mentioning any of the parties specifically, Deion wrote, “To whom it may concern if u desire to come play for us @CUBuffsFootball they may drop your HS rankings just because. I have a friend name LuLu from Ft. Myers they did that to years ago and they’re still doing it now. Fortunately we don’t care about rankings. 😂😂” Deion is giving it his all to make sure Lewis comes to Colorado next year and seeing how there will be a shortage of star players when both his sons leave for the NFL, Lewis’ decommitment from USC is an urgent need of the hour.
