Coach Prime and Nike are going big! After teasing fans for months with the release of the iconic Nike Air DT ‘96 shoes, Deion Sanders and his sons appeared in a sleek Nike photo to launch the valuable asset on June 14. And with the ads and promos of the shoes by stars like basketball champ LeBron James, it’s not surprising how they sold out in a matter of minutes.

This interest has been visible beyond the fans regretting not getting their hands on a pair. Notable names have been successful in securing Coach Prime’s signature shoes, including a former Dallas Cowboys WR. See what tribute he has in store for Sanders on the new release.

Even before the release of the signature Nike Air DT ‘96 shoes, Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes had nurtured a good relationship with Nike. However, the coach and the brand seemed to have had a falling out somewhere down the line. The release of the collection in February, thus, came as a symbol of renewed relation between the two after initally hinting at the cleared matters in July last year.

It was then, as the shoes were “shock dropped” to cater to the Super Bowl’s energy, that 4x NBA Champion paid homage to Deion Sanders by wearing a different colorway inspired by Coach Prime’s shoes at the 20th NBA All-Star. After the release and sell-out, Coach Prime had to assure fans with fresh excitement by revealing more upcoming releases in different colorways. But right now, let’s see some of those who own a pair of these epic shoes.

Even before the release, some people already had their hands on the shoes. These include the Sanders household and CU players and coaches. Deion Sanders Jr. was the first to receive the pair, then Shedeur Sanders, Shilo Sanders, and Travis Hunter. But aside from football players?

Coach Prime also sent Nike gift boxes to certain people in the music and entertainment industry. DJ Khaled and Rick Ross are among the favored entities who received a pair of the iconic shoes. For people who missed out on the sale, trust Coach Prime’s words when he said — “Don’t worry if you missed out on this release, Nike has revealed four Diamond Turf 3 colorways, along with Nike Air Diamond Turf 1’s coming soon.” Stay tuned for the latest updates on the upcoming releases.
