Did Joel Klatt make the right call snubbing Michigan after their recruiting scandal? What's your take?

“Then who’s going to threaten them?”. Back on August 10th, Michigan managed to pull in 4-star Jayden Sanders and this marked an end to their recruitment drywall. Sherrone Moore, HC for the Wolverines, has taken over the reins, and this being his first year at the camp has been harsh. With the NCAA releasing the draft report of the sign-stealing investigations, it’s being speculated that Moore could easily look at a suspension or maybe a show-cause penalty. Now that the 2024 season is rolling in Ohio State and Oregon are growing up to become enormous threats.

Now, Joel Klatt is telling us that Michigan might be in danger. On August 12th Klatt on his The Joel Klatt Show, mentions, “Let’s start in the Big Ten. You know, Oregon and Ohio State are kind of, they’re your favorites in the Big Ten.” Klatt had put Ohio State in the No.1 spot and Oregon in the No.4 spot on his preseason polls. Now why is that? Well, we all know that the Buckeyes have lost all the 3 matches against the Wolverines. However, this year things have changed. The biggest name the Buckeyes got on their roster this year was Caleb Downs. That kid had led the Crimson Tide in tackles for the first time since 1970. Not only that, the team also has key players like Will Howard and Quinshon Judkins, who are going to keep an eye on the passing games and the ground games.

Coming to the Ducks, after their first fall scrimmage, the team has shown massive improvement in their overall physicality and tackling. Dan Lanning, HC, mentioned, “Guys out there tackling, running to the ball, blocking hard, thought all that showed up.” While Michigan has 3 title wins under its belt and would be a tough team to deal with. We still gotta keep in mind that the Jim Harbaugh era is gone. The Ducks have massive veterans on board, like Terrance Ferguson, Tez Johnson, and Jeffrey Bassa, who could easily turn the tides in Oregon’s favor. However, with all of this aside, we still gotta keep in mind that even if the Wolverines managed to ensure a win this year, Sherrone Moore & Co. have some bad news waiting for them. We already got the NCAA’s verdict on Jim Harbaugh on August 8th.

“Unethical Conduct”

While Jim Harbaugh had a lot of confidence when he said “I do not apologize” the NCAA is back to drag him down. The committee has decided to issue Harbaugh a 1-year suspension along with a 4-year show-cause penalty. This comes in for all the unethical conduct that the HC and his staff committed during the Covid 19. “The panel noted that Harbaugh’s intentional disregard for NCAA legislation and unethical conduct amplified the severity of the case,” the NCAA had noted.

This is kind of wild because a few days back on August 6th we saw Colin Cowherd defend Jim Harbaugh on his show Herd. “This is a witch hunt. There is nothing in this ruling that proves Harbaugh knew any of it,” Cowherd had mentioned. We gotta wait and watch if the same fate awaits Sherrone Moore or not. Let’s hope things don’t get too bad for the coach.
