When it comes to a National Championship-winning team in the 2024 season, the Colorado Buffaloes aren’t at the forefront of people’s minds. But Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt isn’t one of these people as he puts his firm belief in Deion Sanders and the Buffs. And this isn’t the first time he’s vouching for Colorado either.

Recently on June 4, Klatt made a prediction for Colorado that made waves online. He said, “There’s a chance that Colorado is competing to go to the Big 12 Championship game.” He also added his hope of them entering the CFP if Shedeur Sanders is healthy. If you’re wondering, here is why Klatt is so confident about his prediction for Colorado.

Appearing on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on YouTube on June 14, Joel Klatt showed his confidence in Colorado despite their poor season in 2023. As the Fox Sports analyst cited, one of the main reasons for the Buffs’ downfall last season was a poor offense that led to Shedeur Sanders getting sacked 52 times. He argued, “They have totally rebuilt their offensive line through the transfer portal mainly and getting Jordan Seaton, the No. 1 rated OT in the recruiting cycle last year.”

This came after Paul Finebaum dropped a harsh opinion on Deion Sanders as a coach. Speaking with McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning podcast on June 11, Finebaum said, “It’s just a matter of being honest, I don’t consider him a great coach at all. He’s a Hollywood-created celebrity primarily because of what he did in other walks of life, namely playing football.” Would the fortification in the offensive line change the fate of the Buffs as Klatt is expecting?

After last year’s mistake, Deion Sanders made a major change in the Buffs O-line. He brought in five elite starters and 5-star OT Jordan Seaton who has become a diehard commit. Only center Hank Zilinskas and Kareem Harden are returning from the 2023 lineup.

Deion Sanders seems to be pleased with the changes as he previously lauded his O-line players especially Tyler Brown saying, “Tyler Brown is killing it. He’s probably grading higher than the gigs on a daily basis and he’s consistent.” He also believes in O-line coach Phil Loadholt whom he described as “really good.” Even so, the ultimate result will only be visible when the action begins this fall once the Buffs kick off their opener against North Dakota State.
