The atmosphere on Saturday at Tiger Field for the LSU Spring Game was electric. This was mostly due to the presence of the school’s legendary alums and athletes present on the sidelines. LSU royalty Joe Burrow and Angel Reese were in the house this weekend. The NFL quarterback and the future WNBA star set the stage on fire, as they posed for pictures showing off their iconic celebrations, the same one that put Reese in the headlines a few weeks ago.
Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Cool paired up with LSU women’s basketball national champion Angel Reese at the annual game to cap off the spring. The game was between the offense and defense teams, with the result ending in a tie between the Purples and the Whites. However, it was the ‘finger-pointing’ from Burrow and Reese that caused all the chatter.

It wasn’t too long ago that Joe Burrow took his team to a Super Bowl appearance only two years after having one of the greatest college football seasons of all time. The former Heisman winner led the Tigers to a college football playoff national championship in 2019-20 before going as the first overall pick in the 2020 draft. This year, Burrow and Co fell short at the AFC Championship game. However, the passer’s consistency remains.

Partnering with him was the newly crowned NCAA women’s basketball champion and most outstanding player of the tournament, Angel Reese. This was the first basketball championship in the program’s history, including LSU men’s basketball. Reese’s victory, and her emotions oozing out as she did some trash-talking with rival Iowa star Caitlin Clark, resonated with the basketball fraternity in full fledge.
Reese received her fair share of criticism with some calling her taunting “classless.“ However, her fans and well-wishers certainly don’t want her to pay attention to that. Joe Burrow proved that he’s a bigger fan of Angel than any as the duo pointed to their rings in the iconic celebration stance.

All that is missing is an actual Super Bowl ring for Burrow. Surely, that’s not far away, given who some of Burrow’s teammates are. And one of them accompanied him to the LSU game.
Ja’Marr Chase was also in the building
“Natty Champs,” the captions read for Joe Burrow and Angel Reese. Burrow wasn’t the only Bengal and LSU alum to grace the Tigers’ Spring game. Cincinnati’s superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase also grabbed his picture with Angel Reese. “Legendary Tigers,” LSU Women’s Basketball official Twitter account caption Chase and Reese.

With a 3-1 overall record against reigning champions, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, Burrow and Chase have undoubtedly taken their LSU charisma over to the NFL. Angel Reese, on the other hand, will look to run it back for another NCAA championship next year. Will she repeat or will Caitlin get her payback?
