As the 2025 NFL season approaches, the New York Jets are actively seeking upgrades at the offensive tackle position. With the upcoming NFL Draft on the horizon, the Jets are considering top prospects such as Joe Alt and Olu Fashanu to bolster their offensive line.

His potential addition to the roster could significantly benefit the Jets, particularly if he becomes a key protector for an experienced quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. Additionally, the Jets are strategically eyeing other positions in the draft, aiming to enhance their roster with top-tier pass catchers or linemen to further strengthen their lineup. In his recent Up & Adams Show interview with Kay Adams, Alt made an interesting comment about being able to block Rodgers.

The Jets’ proactive approach involves thorough scouting and meetings with potential prospects like Alt to strengthen their offensive line. Should Alt join the team, his presence could significantly impact the Jets’ performance in the upcoming season. Furthermore, the Jets’ draft strategy hinges on the hope that premier offensive players will be selected early, allowing them to secure a top-tier talent like Alt to address their pressing needs. Alt, a highly regarded first-round talent from Notre Dame, has expressed keen interest in the possibility of joining the Jets and blocking for veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. On being asked about his perspective on the possibility, Alt says that it “will be a dream” since Arron Rodgers is “one of the best out there.”

Analysts, including ESPN’s Matt Miller, anticipate the Jets selecting Alt with the ninth overall pick, envisioning him as a formidable protector for Rodgers. While Alt may need to enhance his strength, his potential impact remains unquestionable. The unfolding of events in the upcoming draft promises intrigue and anticipation. While Alt can’t wait to block Rodgers, there is an NFL defender he can not wait to compete against.

During his recent appearance on Kay Adams’ Up & Adams Show, Joe Alt further expressed his anticipation for facing off against top NFL talent, singling out Myles Garrett as the player he’s most eager to compete against. Alt lauded Garrett’s combination of power and speed, labeling him as a “special” player, and expressed excitement about the prospect of matching up against him in the trenches.

Although Alt is rumored to be the Tennessee Titans’ pick at No. 7, it’s unlikely that he’ll face the Cleveland Browns, Garrett’s team, during the 2024 regular season. Barring a postseason matchup between the two teams, Alt may have to wait until another season to realize his dream of going head-to-head with the reigning AP Defensive Player of the Year. Nevertheless, Alt remains focused on honing his skills and adapting to the speed of the NFL game, ensuring that he’s well-prepared for the eventual showdown with Garrett and other elite talents in the league.
