Harbaugh gave his heart and soul to Michigan, even bearing some pretty serious sign stealing allegations along the way. Hence, his dedication to Ann Arbor isn’t at the gunpoint here, his future aspirations for his career are. Along with the Rose Bowl win, Harbaugh guiding the 49ers to the Super Bowl remains one of the top highlights of his resume. Hence, following the National championship, Super Bowl might be the next checklist item for Harbaugh.
Super Bowl might be Harbaugh’s next aim
On the Pat McAfee show, Adam Schefter tried to convince his audience about Harbaugh still not wanting to commit himself to either of the two sub-realms of football, neither the NCAA nor the NFL yet.
“It’s got to be the right opportunity with the right offer and if that comes along, all that falls into place, I think he winds up leaving,” asserted the ESPN guest. Further taking a shot at guessing the Wolverines head coach’s future aims, he said, “I know Jim loves Ann Arbor, but I still believe that he wants to win a Super Bowl. I believe that’s in his heart.”Jim Harbaugh’s unadorned Super Bowl dream is not the only impetus behind Schefter’s hypothesis. The Michigan Wolverines offered a contract extension to Harbaugh. The term of ‘Harbaugh not leaving the Wolverines for the 2024 season’ was allegedly perceived as the main explanation for Harbaugh’s reluctancy towards the contract. Schefter even commented on Harbaugh hiring a football agent, the reason for which still remains debatable.
