The NCAA competition is once again hit by controversy as signal-stealing allegations take center stage. While the world is waiting in anticipation for Alabama and Michigan’s playoff clash, an unauthorized access saga has eclipsed the occasion. The culprits this time around are the Ohio State Buckeyes who’ve taken unfair advantage by gaining access to the opposition player’s footage.

As reported by the video footage company Catapult, Ohio gathered unauthorized access and since then the news has been doing rounds all around. Now to counter this ploy and to keep their plans secret, Alabama is going full length to avoid such lapses. Moreover, there’s an interesting Michigan element to the ploy utilized by the Crimson Tide. Bow Jim Harbaugh has come forth to shed light on the matter and drop his two cents on the scheme of things.

The Alabama side is going above and beyond in keeping their plans a secret. Now, the players aren’t allowed to keep taking their iPads home to review practice films. The players are only allowed to watch the videos during the group sessions as a security precaution given Michigan’s reputation. Jim Harbaugh was recently asked about this during a media interaction. This was his response- “I know there’s been just rumors about Cloud and Catapult system. Our team is taking the same precautions.”

When asked with a follow-up question as to how he got to know about the rumors. The Wolverines’ HC replied with a straightforward answer. “Rumor, people you know just started talking about that you know very little about how that works.” He closed the answer with a hilarious take on how the university’s server was hacked! For the Alabama side, they had to cope with not using their iPads at home which brought some mixed reactions.

It’s always challenging when a success formula is changed at the last stage. For Alabama and its top-performing players, the earlier discussed iPad rule change was met with some displeasure. For offensive lineman JC Latham what works best for him is to review the film 30-45 minutes prior to the game. This is a practical way of reading one’s own game and figuring out the loopholes.
