Ahead of the big clash between Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies, there’s a bold claim made by Jim Harbaugh. Michigan’s HC is having one of his best seasons at the helm and guided his side to the finals. He spoke to the pressers as he took questions from the media personalities.

One of the questions was surrounding McCarthy and his amazing numbers the whole season. Furthermore, it was the ultimate comparison of JJ McCarthy with the NFL GOAT Tom Brady. Harbaugh was in a tense spot but he dealt with the same superbly and also shared a huge revelation. So, why does Harbaugh consider McCarthy as the greatest QB for Michigan?

Harbaugh reckons McCarthy to be the best Michigan QB

The 56-year-old’s bold remarks caused a stir in the media as the HC addressed the pressers. Jim Harbaugh was asked about the comparisons between JJ McCarthy and Tom Brady. The NFL giant Tom Brady too played for the team and made memories during their stellar Orange Bowl in 2000. Now, Harbaugh also disclosed the relationship between the two and chose his best QB to have ever represented the team. “Exactly, I think JJ is the best college quarterback in the history of Michigan football, college football.”

This was a massive statement coming in from the HC as he put McCarthy in front of Tom Brady in terms of the QB position. However, there was a catch with the coach outlining the greatness of the 7X SB winner. “A long way to go where Tom Brady is, which is the greatest of all time. Tom Brady is the greatest football player of all time! He’s lapped the field, a full lap.” Tom Brady was the clear winner when it came to deciding the best QB in footballing history. Now the youngster also replied to these gigantic praises and showed love for the legendary ex-player.

JJ McCarthy is happy with the praise but has only one goal in mind

The #9 Michigan Wolverines QB is a baby-faced player who’s a fierce competitor on the field. While the praise coming from his coach is huge, McCarthy hasn’t yet “broken down the film” with him. However, the youngster mentioned that he’s been listening to the legend’s advice on how to watch films and note down the key points.

For JJ, he comes into the match with a certain vengeance. In his young career thus far, the player saw his side losing two straight CFP semis last couple of seasons. With 26 wins in 27 starts, he’d be looking to extend that lead on 9th January.
