The popular TV show “The Simpsons” has taken a hilarious dig at Jim Harbaugh in its latest episode. Recently, the Wolverines HC was at the core of some sign-stealing allegations followed by a three-match suspension during the latter half of the 2023 NCAA season. This has allowed several questions surrounding the 60-year-old.

Meanwhile, as the 35th episode of The Simpsons was aired, it reflected the mention of Harbaugh’s name. Per the sources, it was all done to poke light fun at the Michigan Wolverines HC and engage the audience with some hilarious gags. Interestingly though, the appearance in the show came days after a whopping $125 million gamble offered to the HC.

The Simpsons is noteworthy for imitating life with art through its caricatures. Recently, in the show’s 35th episode, Jim Harbaugh also got a special mention. It was in the episode titled- “Do the Wrong Thing”, where the show’s protagonists cheat at a variety of sports that include cornhole and disc golf. The show further took a hilarious outtake with Bart accepting a position teaching “Intro to Cheating 101”.

However, the highlight of the show happened the tall red building was shown where the lecture was taught. The name read- “Jim Harbaugh Center for Competitive Imbalance.” This reference was made in context to the football team’s sign-stealing allegations that grabbed headlines during November 2023. It was reported that the unfair practices gave the Wolverines an advantage over the other teams.

While Harbaugh accepted the penalty and was suspended for the team’s last three games, the NFL enthusiasts still aren’t willing to let the incident go. Moreover, the HC was on his way to seek an NFL contract as reported by inside sources following the 2023 NCAA season. But, there’s an interesting twist in the tale following a $125 million offer proposed by the Wolverines.

$125 million offer that might force Harbaugh’s NFL U-turn

There was a strong rumor coming in from the inside sources that Harbaugh was seeking an NFL comeback. These projections gathered steam after the sign-stealing fiasco and two teams were linked with an NFL contract. The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers were looking to rope in the college coach for their squad. Now, the move might have been halted with the $125 million contract offered by the Michigan Wolverines.

As reported by analyst Ian Rapoport, Harbaugh is set to earn a record $12.5 million per year for 10 years straight as part of this contract. This payout would make the HC as one of the highest-paid coaches in the football history. However, the contract comes with a no-NFL clause. It clearly states that Harbaugh can’t accept any immediate NFL offers. It’s a strong preventive measure done by the team to retain their HC for a few more years.
