Drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Brenden had an impressive college career at USC, earning second-team All-Pac-12 honors with 45 catches for 791 yards and 12 touchdowns in his senior year. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein compared Brenden to Titans receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Brenden has been very open regarding his steps in the world of football. “This is not about what my dad did it’s about what I’m trying to accomplish now,” the young WR had said. This brings out this amazing fact that even if he is the song a Hall of Famer, he wants to carve his own path and leave his own mark.
Following his father’s footsteps
Despite being selected late in the draft, Brenden is determined to prove his worth. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 208 pounds, he has the physical attributes to excel in the league. However, there is one unfortunate thing that happened to Rice when he was called for the NFL. That day was a sad one cause Brenden was on his way to serve as the pole bearer and give a speech to his best friend, Keith Miller’s death. “I know it’s a hard time for you, brother. Hopefully, we can life up your spirits. This is Joe Hortiz with the Chargers and were on the clock right now,” this is all it took from Hortiz and Brenden broke down in joy.
“I can’t wait to come play for yall,” a sweet reply by Brenden in what we fans can call; a very bittersweet moment. The death of a friend, to a call from the NFL. Brenden has the best of wishes from all his fans and that’s for sure. Let’s see what magic he cooks up for LA.
