Draft analysts are showering praise on Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, who is making waves ahead of the forthcoming NFL Draft. Lane Kiffin’s offense-friendly program has helped Dart find himself in a perfect situation to showcase his talent, promising to catch the eyes of many pundits.

On the popular YouTube channel NFL Stock Exchange, hosts Connor Rogers and Trevor Sikkema gave Dart a big thumbs up, placing him in their Top 10 quarterbacks for the draft. They dissected each quarterback’s strengths and weaknesses, and Dart emerged as a clear favorite. Sikkema, impressed by Dart’s “natural athleticism” and throwing ability, ranked him as the No. 8 quarterback.

Rogers echoed Sikkema’s sentiments, stating, “He’s somebody who I think can take a really big step this year.” He even placed him even higher, at No. 7 in his personal rankings. Recently, PFF College hyped Dart on Instagram by reposting Rogers’ words and captioning it, “Jaxson Dart is in for a HUGE season🔥.”

However, amidst the praises, Rogers also offered some constructive criticism. He highlighted how Dart “also takes some really bad sacks. Sometimes he’ll stare too long… he pats the ball and allows guys in the zone to make a break.” While these are areas for improvement, overall, the outlook for Dart is very promising.

Looks like Dart’s draft stock could see a further boost if his team performs well this season. Interestingly, Kiffin’s Ole Miss squad is expected to do that in the upcoming SEC schedule, providing Dart with a sturdy platform to shine.

Jaxson Dart’s draft fate is now tied to Ole Miss victories

In the latest On3 podcast, the host talked about the betting trends for SEC teams this year. Clearly, Georgia Bulldogs are on the top with +185 odds, followed by Texas with +310. But here’s the surprise contender: Lane Kiffin’s Rebels come in at a close third with +650 odds, even surpassing the Alabama Crimson Tide. In fact, the Kalen DeBoer team has +950 odds, putting them just behind the Rebels.

The Rebels have a favorable schedule, facing relatively less challenging opponents with Georgia and LSU being the major hurdles. Therefore, if they manage to win against these teams, their chances of winning the championship this year are quite high.

If this scenario plays out, Jaxson Dart’s draft prospects would certainly improve, positioning him as a strong quarterback contender alongside Carson Beck and Shedeur Sanders. Who knows? He might even surprise everyone and emerge as a strong competitor for the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
