Jim Harbaugh and his name has been a hot topic of discussion for months now. After being severely ambiguous about his decision to whether or not to stay with the Michigan Wolverines, he finally ended up leaving for the NFL by signing on with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Michigan Wolverines went 15-0 before winning the national title under Harbaugh. As such, it made the most sense for Harbaugh to move on to the next step in his career- winning a Super Bowl. But while the fans have been happy about his arrival in the NFL, he is bringing the staff at Michigan along with him, much to the Wolverines’ fans upset. But this is what JJ Watt, the former DE for the Houston Texans, had to say about his transfer to the Chargers.

On the latest episode of the ‘Pat McAfee’ show, JJ Watt joined the show to talk about Jim Harbaugh’s $80 million career move and ended up bringing Ben Herbert into the conversation. According to him, Herbert will be a vital part of the squad, as he has been trained by him during his time in Wisconsin.

Now that Herbert has joined Harbaugh at the LA Chargers, the national champion coach will have a better chance at replicating his success at Michigan here in the NFL. Watt added to the opinion and said, “One of the underrated things about that move is that I think is going to play a big role, that people might never even know about but will play a massive role if they’re going to be successful in Los Angeles and that is the hiring of Ben Herbert as the strength coach. He was actually my strength coach at Wisconsin. There are a few people who are complete game changers when it comes to personality, culture, knowledge when it comes to implementing their system and changing an entire team just by their presence and Herbert is one of those people.”

Moreover, Harbaugh’s influence seems to be spreading over the Michigan Wolverines as Herbert is the second member to join his quest for a Super Bowl.

Jesse Minter and Ben Herbert both follow Harbaugh’s steps and join the NFL

The Michigan Wolverines are the reigning champions of the NCAA. With the addition of Harbaugh, they were almost unbeatable. But now it seems as if dark days lie ahead for Sherrone Moore and his men in maize and blue. Ben Herbert was a pivotal part of the team, but Jesse Minter was one of the most important. The 40-year-old defensive coordinator played a major role in securing the team’s national title, but even he got swayed away by the Harbaugh fever.

Now that the Chargers are more suitable for Harbaugh to excel with, the fans are riding a lot of expectations on his shoulders despite it being his debut season. Whether Harbaugh manages to scale the Chargers to new heights or not, one thing is for certain, there won’t exactly be a warm welcome for the coach the next time he steps foot in Ann Arbour. Thus, it is evident that Harbaugh is preparing well for the upcoming NFL season, but will he continue to bank on Michigan coaches to save the day?
