“Go back to our roots,” Antonio Pierce said and did exactly that. When stepped up as the interim head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders last season, he brought a breath of fresh air to a team that had been struggling. “I was born with the Raiders rolling into the Coliseum in LA,” Pierce has remarked before guiding the team to a 5-4 season and a notable victory against the Giants. “We wanted to do it for AP,” said running back Josh Jacobs, showing that Pierce definitely put in some work for the team. So it will not come as a surprise that out of all the people, Deion Sanders would have high words for AP. Coach Prime also took the HC helm for Colorado with one big aim: To make this team the best in college football.

During the Big 12 Media Day 2 on 11th July, Deion Sanders couldn’t help but shower Pierce with praise.“It’s not a mistake that he accomplished what he accomplished last year,” Sanders said. “It’s not a mistake that he’s now the head coach of the Raiders. It’s not a mistake that he’s a leader, motivator, knows X’s and O’s, just a good dude. It’s not a mistake that my kids would love to play for him.” Sanders’ endorsement highlights Pierce’s knack for leadership and his ability to inspire those around him. A quality that Prime has and loves.

This major compliment comes hours after CBS Sports, Cody Benjamin’s harsh ranking for Pierce on Top NFL Head Coaches. “With just six combined years of college and NFL coaching experience, he’s a true unknown,” he had remarked while placing Pierce in the No. 28 spot. Rough thing to say for a coach who brought out the best from a struggling team. Coach Prime’s endorsement is enough evidence that the Raiders are in good hands and maybe if Shedeur and Shilo end up there, then it would get even better.

What will Shedeur and Shilo bring to the table?

If Shedeur and Shilo Sanders were to get drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders, it could be a major win for the team. Shedeur already has the backing of some well-known names in college football. “He is not just the best QB in that conference but he’s the best QB in the country,” Skip had said on the Undisputed. He went on to mention that Shedeur has amazing arm strength which makes him sort of Brady-esque. Even Matt Miller from ESPN labeled Shedeur as “very surgical.” While Shedeur has the perfect chemistry with his teammates and does great on the offense, the only area he tends to lack is the defense. “We gotta step it up with the linebackers,” Deion had mentioned in the Undisputed regarding the defense around Shedeur.

But, let’s not forget about Shilo. On the DNVR Buffs Podcast, Andre Simone had some praise for Shilo Sanders. “he’s got the size, he’s got the physicality, he’s got that hard-hitting. And then he’s got that speed element to him,” Simone had mentioned. Although he was surrounded by some controversy beforehand, Shilo does have the strength to just get in there and push out. However, with everything that has happened in his career since 2015, his spot in the NFL will be a major fight. Dave Syvertsen had commented regarding this, saying, “very uphill battle against the entire pre-draft process.”

As the 2024 season approaches, eyes will be on the Sanders brothers and their talent. Deion Sanders does have a huge weight on his shoulders and only time will tell how Shedeur and Shilo manage to ease the pain out.
