Pillar reveals Shelomi’s “battles”

As the mother of a child battling diabetes, Pillar Sanders recalls the constant struggle with the beeping sound of the monitoring device. In her recent Instagram video, she recalls how, as a child, Shelomi would hide her beeping glucometer somewhere in her mother’s room. And each time it beeped, Pilar found herself engaged in a “scavenger hunt”, trying to locate the source of the noise hidden by her daughter. The constant beeping echoed throughout the day and night, adding to the challenge of “being the mother of someone who battles diabetes.”

She added in a caption, “T1D Moms Of course I’m not searching everywhere in the house to find this device double wrapped in 2 socks, a T-Shirt in a bag that’s in a shoe box under my bed every 3 days.” Pilar has remained her daughter’s strongest supporter even when it comes to taking a stand against her ex-husband, Deion Sanders.

In Shelomi’s recent decision to enter the transfer portal, which generated controversy and harsh comments from Coach Prime, Pilar made it known- that she has Shelomi’s back, no matter what.
Pilar takes a stand for Shelomi and against Deion Sanders
Shelomi Sanders’ choice to transfer has sparked contrasting sentiments, particularly from her father, Coach Prime. When asked about Shelomi’s departure from Boulder, Coach Prime offered blunt remarks, expressing his dissatisfaction with her decision and suggesting a violation of NCAA rules. Sanders frankly told DNVR on Wednesday. “You don’t enter the portal. You get a team before you enter the portal,“ indicating that Shelomi’s move without securing a team beforehand was not wise.

However, Shelomi’s mother, Pilar Sanders, former spouse of Coach Prime, stood up for her daughter. Pilar emphasized that Shelomi “was never given a fair chance to really get recruited.”
While colleges and universities initially showed interest in Shelomi, her recruitment prospects were hindered by the assumption that she would follow in her father’s footsteps and enroll in Jackson State University (JSU). However, Shelomi signed up with the Bulldogs and is eagerly anticipating the new chapter of her basketball career.
