The aftermath of their social media blunder continues to plague Deion Sanders and his son. The mass exodus at Colorado ticked off the chain reaction of the ex-transfer portal players alleging Deion Sanders of not running the program fair and square. Cormani McClain and Xavier Smith’s protests reverberated the loudest of all, even prompting Shedeur Sanders and Deion Sanders himself to get dirty.

“Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best,” were the unfiltered words of Shedeur Sanders on Smith’s allegations on his father and the program of Colorado. The statement was enough to leave the fans baffled, leading to his leadership skills being questioned. Exactly what Bobby Carpenter, an ex-Cowboys linebacker, wanted to ask Deion Sanders.

“Deion has talked about uplifting young men, especially young black men. It’s like, is that example you want your son to set of how he’s going to be a leader?” Carpenter put forth the question to Prime in a no-nonsense manner on The Bobby Carpenter Show. Especially when you want your son to be so hot in the 2025 draft market that multiple teams chase him and he pulls an “Eli Manning” in the end.

Fans have cut straight to their word without beating around the bush. They firmly believe a QB calling one of his teammates “mid” is a big red flag when speaking in NFL terms, something that not a lot of head coaches might gravitate toward. But Deion Sanders is overlooking that part completely. Prime is pretty sold on his son being an instant favorite of the teams in the 2025 draft.

The criticism of Shedeur Sanders was worsening with the passing moment. To a point where Deion Sanders had to step in to defend his son. “Hey, tell your son to stop acting like he’s the coldest out there,” a user commented to Deion. Sanders replied, “He will be a top 5 pick. Where yo son going? Lololol I got time today. Lololol.”

With that being said, even if Shedeur Sanders manages to redeem himself from all the off-court drama, there’s still some tough competition out there that he would have to beat. Quinn Ewers and Carson Beck are the top competitors Shedeur will have. All he has is this season to define his strengths and pump up his numbers to get that extra edge against them.
