TikTok companions? Brothers? Oh yes, they are!

Having a sibling playing the same sport is comforting, but how about playing it on different teams? That’s an unusual story. The players are Caleb Downs and Josh Downs. They are both leading characters as brothers and skilled football players. Josh is a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, while Caleb is a freshman safety for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

They have trained together from an early age. Moreover, they just had a love for the game in their blood. The duo got it as a gift from their father! They are the sons of the former NFL player Gary Downs. Caleb and Josh have a perfect understanding of each other’s capacities. Their family has also invested a lot to ensure these brothers succeed.

A family tie and background that spurs them on

Josh is the brother of TikTok star Caleb. Josh has risen through the ranks of the NFL and was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Downs brothers hail from Suwanee, Georgia. Their parents’ names are Gary McLinton Downs Jr. and Tanya Downs. Josh was born in 2001 and has already become a player in the NFL. Born in 2004, Caleb is a bright defensive back at Alabama and on his way to becoming an NFL player.

They hail from a family with a football background. Father Gary Downs is a former NFL player who played for the New York Giants and the Atlanta Falcons. He is the current recruiting coordinator and running back coach at East Tennessee State University. They also got these sports genes from their mother’s side. Dré Bly, their maternal uncle, is a former NFL cornerback with an 11-year-long career. 

Caleb and Josh: The fabulous brothers

Josh is a rare and special talent. He has impressive speed and agility and is often praised by his coaches. “Josh is a special talent,” his head coach Shane Steichen said. “He’s got the ability to make plays in traffic and make big plays down the field.” He was a terrific player from his rookie year. He caught 53 passes for 745 yards and four touchdowns.

Caleb looks set to follow in his family’s footsteps. The young talent is under immense pressure to meet the expectations of fans and coaches. He has what it takes to do so. In an interview, he said, “I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work, but I’m ready for the challenge.” He caught 73 passes for 1,334 yards and 15 touchdowns in his senior year alone, stamping his presence on the gridiron.

This brother duo is making some noise in football. They still have a lot to achieve and a long road ahead.
