It’s been a season of highs and lows for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines! From facing two suspensions to finishing the season with 13-0 and a chance to compete at the national championship game, it has been a rollercoaster ride for Harbaugh. But while the Wolverines are one of the leaders in college football, the same can’t be said for the Los Angeles Chargers who are eying the Michigan HC as a potential NFL HC prospect.

Since firing their head coach Brandon Stanley on December 15, the Chargers have been in the market seeking the same. And it looks like Jim Harbaugh has surpassed everyone on their list. With this attention from the Chargers, could this be the last we see of Harbaugh as Michigan HC?

More intriguing news for Jim Harbaugh’s fans! A recent report on Twitter has everyone interested as Bet Online AG posted their latest speculation. The post reads, “He is the favorite to be the next head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.” 

According to sources, the Michigan Wolverines HC and the Chargers have been in reported contact with each other. But it remains unclear if Jim Harbaugh feels the same way about the Chargers. But what would happen if the Michigan HC actually joins the Chargers? According to a report by ESPN, the NFL world is feeling “skeptical” if the team can provide Harbaugh with the “power and/or meet the financial demands” that he would be expecting to leave Michigan as one of the winningest coaches in college football.

The pull to the Pro League must be real! Jim Harbaugh has already shown his desire to be in the NFL so that he can continue what he left behind in the pro league and fight for a Super Bowl championship. And then he decided he was better with Michigan. But even the most powerful people can be a victims of indecisiveness sometimes, and Harbaugh is not spared.

After coaching the San Francisco 49ers for four seasons and leaving them for Michigan with a record of 44-19-1, Harbaugh attempted a second NFL comeback when he interviewed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022. He didn’t get the job. Following that, he said he told Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel of his decision to enter the NFL, “Warde, this will not be a reoccurring theme every year. This was a one-time thing.”

After this incident, Jim Harbaugh again met with the Denver Broncos last offseason. And this year, a reported contact is ongoing with the Chargers. We wish we knew what’s going on inside his mind! But for now, all attention is diverted to the upcoming CFP games where undefeated Michigan will face the 12-1 Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl.
