Just when the Wolverines thought they had redeemed themselves, atleast for this season, from the Big-Ten detested sign-stealing debacle, it came right back to bite them. The timing couldn’t be worse as well, given their upcoming all-important Rose Bowl just a sunrise away. Saban and Co. were witty to announce their players restricting themselves from viewing films on ipads against Michigan due to concerns related to hacking.
Reflecting a similar course of actions, Michigan has also taken the precautionary measures to full-proof their game-plan ahead of the playoffs. Since Friday, both teams are watching game films only in groups or on protected devices. Jim Harbaugh gave his two-cents on the measures ahead of the Rose Bowl as he also talked about the team’s reputation.

Jim Harbaugh issues a no-nonsense response

Prevention is better than damage repair, and Michigan learned it the tough way this season. Hence, when the topic of players restricted from their ipads was brought up at the Rose Bowl media day, Harbaugh kept his composure while issuing a no-nonsense statement to Saban and Co. “I don’t know that somebody said that but I know there’s been just rumors out there about the cloud and and the Catapult system. Our team is taking the same precautions,” stated the Michigan head coach.
The news was brought to public notice by WR Roman Wilson. “Coach is trying to protect our players. You can’t really blame them with the things going on in college football these days,” stated the WR. In a way, Wilson took the revenge for his team with this statement, not directly hinting at Alabama, yet delivering the message. Seems that Wilson has taken up the job of a spokesperson pretty seriously at Michigan, along with flawlessly executing his primary one as a WR.

Wolverines struggle with unequal NIL deals

WR Wilson addressed some major issues. One of them was the parity in the NIL deals across teams. Ahead of an important clash, it is vital for players to stay in their best shape physically and mentally. However, the untimeliness, and sometimes even lack of the paychecks is hindering the process, per Wilson.

It’s not like we’re getting paid monthly checks and things like that like we’re hearing at other schools,” admitted the WR. Alongside this, he also mentioned his ‘other friends making more money at other schools’. Michigan being the No.1 team not being able to bring the best of NIL deals to their student athletes are truly a ‘disappointment‘ as Wolverines podcast host mentions.
