The Iowa Hawkeyes are under the pump against the Michigan Wolverines. The game has been pretty much one-sided with Michigan reigning supreme over their counterparts. Michigan has done what they do best ensuring that their offense is invincible as they breached past the Iowa’s defenses.

To make things worse, Iowa’s offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz got a little too spirited after Michigan’s easy TD. Things got heated on the field when the Michigan players got possession of the ball after a controversial fumble. Once the referees ruled in the Wolverines’ favor, the offensive coordinator from Iowa got involved.

During one of the plays, which was earlier reported as a fumble, Michigan recovered it and got it back at the Iowa six. Brian Ferentz, Iowa’s assistant coach Brian Ferentz was involved in a penalty call as he lost his control while arguing the referee’s call. His angry tirade led him to be flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct as he yelled “That’s f—— b——-” at the referee, his words clear as day.

The arguments from Ferentz didn’t go down well, especially since this might be his last season with the Hawkeyes given his lackluster performance all season. It could also perhaps be the pressure of the loss that might be weighing heavily on Iowa.

The reasons for Ferentz’s outburst were pretty clear. The two Iowa linemen jumped to bat the rolling ball down in a bid to make it fall incomplete. However, Wolverines’ Josh Wallace casually picked up the loose ball and gained possession. After a video review was played, the replay official Nick Baniel deemed that Hill fumbled the ball and there was a clear recovery. But it was to no avail since the whistles were already blown.

Once the dust settled, Iowa stood no chance against a rampant Michigan side. They lost by 26-0 in a game that saw one-way traffic throughout the game. Michigan not only sealed a playoff spot but also did so in an emphatic style! Blake Corum came to the party and scored heavily in the last league match.

He accounted for two touchdowns before other players also chipped in with their performances. For Iowa on the other hand, it was a season to forget since they got most of things wrong. They fell victim to one of the most controversial replays of the season.

Moreover, trailing by 10 points didn’t help their chances as well. An injury to their quarterback meant that they were always playing catch-up with Michigan. Ferentz’s arguments also made things worse since it earned Michigan a penalty and they could score a touchdown right after.
