Competition is in the air! Young minds, infectious energy, high spirit of contest. Colorado Buffaloes’ first practice session is seeing more heat than ever as new recruits display their competitive spirit with the old guard. He had been emphasizing strengthening the offensive line and it looks like his new offensive linemen are already aware of what’s up!
Former Indiana IOL Kahlil Benson is already making an impression among the Buffs. In a recent YouTube upload by Well Off Media, Deion Sanders Jr captured an interesting exchange between Coach Prime’s new recruits. In what is seen as a healthy competition, the 6’6 junior challenged David Conner saying, “I’m here to take your spot, you been here.”
Benson picked on the 6’5 IOL freshman who joined Deion Sanders and the Buffs in 2023. However, he didn’t see any action in the last season. This season, however, things are getting heated up as a fresh batch of highly enthusiastic and competitive students joined the pack. After the running drill, a pumped Benson admitted brightly, “We up, we here. 30 out like I was skydiving in my lungs but we good.”

Colorado begins 2024 on a note of promise
Out of these new recruits, there are five IOL players who are expected to give the team’s starting QB Shedeur Sanders more protection in the next run. As Corey Phillips, who serves as the team’s Director of Player Personnel says, “It’s a different spirit and energy” this season. He said, “That’s what happens when you recruit good kids. The care factor is different. They care about each other. That’s the first sign of winning. They’ll polish each other.”
