Colorado Buffaloes’ recent transfers are still banking on drama as their biggest weapon. Earlier it was Cormani McClain and Xavier Smith; now, it is time for the ex-Buffs’ backup quarterback, Gavin Kuld. As soon as Kuld hit the transfer portal, instead of carrying all the good memories with him, he took a stand against his former teammate and quarterback, Shedeur, and his team.

This left a disappointed Shedeur to take a stand for himself as he threw an open threat for Kuld, tagging the backup QB. Interestingly, the player refused to take any accountability and came up with another tweet.

Shedeur and Kuld engage in X backlash

A few weeks back, as Smith left Colorado, Shedeur’s comment “very mid at best” against Smith’s claim that he had been shown the exit door by Deion Sanders went viral. Through this, Coach Prime’s son intended to ensure that his departure would not have any effect on Colorado whatsoever. As Kuld hit the transfer portal, he, too, gave an interview, which is now unavailable. A part of the MagDog TV interview, which is now deleted, saw Kuld landing an attack on Shedeur, “Look at Arizona, look at Fifita, he did with all his money…look at Colorado this guy has got six cars and an apartment. Acting as a barrier to not allowing Colorado to get affected by these accusations, the quarterback tweeted mentioning Kuld, “I learned sometimes you have to take the high road. @GKuld  I’ll spare you only this 1 time.”

However, Kuld seemed to have been left surprised by becoming Shedeur’s target. He then retweeted back with a plea, “Bro @ShedeurSanders  what high road?  What are u talking about spare me lol.” Meanwhile, Kuld’s exit brings the Colorado quarterback room down to five players.

Change in Kuld’s attitude within days

On Thursday, May 2, the backup QB announced bidding goodbye to Deion Sanders’ program on X. Even though now he has been charged with badmouthing Coach Prime and his program, all he shared was gratitude as he wrote, “The people I meet and friends I made thank you for showing me the different perspective of life. I will forever hold you near to my heart thank you Boulder!”

The 6-foot 6-inch tall quarterback was one of the tallest to ever throw a football at Colorado, for the majority of 2023, played behind Shedeur. Kuld’s next program will mark his fifth at the college level as he enters the transfer portal with two years of eligibility left. He got the opportunity to appear in two games during his lone season with the Buffaloes where the junior completed one pass for 22 yards and threw an interception.

Even though the real reason behind Kuld’s negative feelings for Shedeur and the Colorado Buffaloes are yet to be known, he appears to take exception with how Shedeur Sanders used his NIL money. It is now to be seen whether he gets a starter position in the next home or not.
