Buffs are back on the victory train and part of it is due to its kicker! Buffaloes? head coach Deion Sanders encouraged his kicker, Alejandro Mata, to celebrate with a dance after nailing the game-winning field goal that secured their 27-24 victory over Arizona State on Saturday.?
In a post-match interview, the young athlete disclosed the reason why Arizona’s attempts to ice him went redundant, with Sanders applauding his outstanding on-field abilities. Prime Time did not bring Mata to Colorado without purpose, and the kicker knows and served it perfectly well.?

In a post-match interview, a reporter asked Mata how he managed to tackle and deliver the winning shot even after an icing attempt by Arizona. Mata replied almost instantly, ?I got Ice in my veins man?You can?t ice something that?s already iced.? An icey comeback to an icy situation. Colorado?s Coach Pime later addressed the situation saying, “You can call a timeout and freeze him all you want,” Deion Sanders said. “That don’t mean nothing to Mata. That’s who he is,? reestablishing the faith he and his team members have in the kicker.?

In the waning minutes of the fourth quarter, Colorado advanced to field goal range for Mata after quarterback Shedeur Sanders connected with wide receiver Javon Antonio on a single play, gaining 43 yards. While they couldn’t move farther down the field, this advantageous field position allowed Mata to line up for the game-winning field goal.?
However, Arizona attempted to ice his efforts by calling a timeout right before he managed to take his shot. But Mata was able to maintain his composure before hitting the ball home with a game-winning-43-yard field goal. This explains the very reason why he was brought to the Colorado Program by Prime Time in the first place.?
