Caleb Williams, the top prospect in the upcoming NFL draft, has a resume boasting the Heisman Trophy in 2022. Despite his talents and success at such a young age of 22, many criticize him for his fashion sense, especially his painted nails. After spotting him with pink nails, a few fans even mocked him.

However, Williams was quick to shut down the hate as he explained earlier that it was an act to honor his mother, who worked as a nail technician. Thus, encouraging young kids to stand up to such acts of bullying. Now, he has received more support from the NFL community for his fashion sense.

Former Miami Dolphins WR Chad Johnson was invited to the Nightcap podcast where they discussed Caleb Williams and his pink controversy. Defending Caleb Williams for his painted nails, he gave an example from his personal life when he used to paint his nails. He said, “You know, I am a little emo, right, goth. Hey, I had the black chin strap, black cleats, black gloves, and I would paint my nails black.” Johnson further added that it is no one’s business to comment on Caleb Williams and his attire as co-host and former tight end of the Denver Broncos, Shannon Sharpe, asked others to back out of Caleb Williams’ life.

Caleb Williams’ nail polish has become controversial as football is considered a “masculine” sport, while the act of painting nails is considered feminine, especially with the color pink. Interestingly, Williams also has an iPhone with a pink cover. But he doesn’t give in to the hateful comments, as revealed by his statement from an interview in 2022. He said, “I am male, and I paint my nails, and I’ve had some people say things about that too,” inspiring many others to join his belief.
