Even after separating her ways from Deion Sanders, the one thing that has stayed constant in Pilar’s life is her love for her daughter Shelomi.

Despite being an athlete who struggles with Type 1 Diabetes, Shelomi Sanders never lets her chronic condition define her. While it demanded a considerable amount of effort from Shelomi, it was even harder for her mother, Pilar Sanders. In one of her Instagram posts, Pilar recalled the alarming moments from Shelomi’s childhood as a child tackling cancer.

Being a kid, Shelomi would often hide her beeping glucometer somewhere in the house, which would mean another ‘scavenger hunt’ for Pilar. Each time it beeped, Pilar had to trace the meter. The constant beeping sound almost became daunting to her, another thing that she reported to be the “challenge of being the mother of someone who battles diabetes.” Hence, Pilar has continued to be the constant source of support in her daughter’s life, proving time and again that she has switched to team GIRL.
