Every team that didn’t make it to the playoffs will have a sentiment of hurt and regret. But the emotion can’t compare with the discriminatory treatment that the Florida State Seminoles had to endure. And this obvious flaw in the selection has got many people talking, including Coach Prime Deion Sanders.
Deion Sanders shows his distress over the FSU playoff controversy in a recent YouTube episode. He admits that it would be a tough hit for Florida State head coach Mike Norvell, whose approach he applauded. Check out what Coach Prime has to say about Norvell’s response.

Coach Prime is no stranger to public shenanigans and when he was asked his opinion on Alabama getting picked over Florida State, he responded with “I want the problem.”
Deion Sanders takes a jab at the CFP committee saying, “Thank God the committee got it right next year when there’s a plethora of schools having the opportunity to go to the playoffs and we plan on being one of them.”
Coach Prime also wondered how he would’ve handled the situation if he were in Mike Norvell’s shoes. To be the unbeaten champion of the Power Five and not qualify for the CFP is not only unfair but also humiliating and discouraging. The Buffs HC said, “I think coach Norvell did a wonderful job articulating himself speaking his truth… That’s a tough one.”
It was a heartbreaking blow to FSU when the CFP committee declared the results of the 2024 college football playoff contenders – Michigan, Alabama, Washington, and Texas. Despite completing the season with a pristine 13-0 record, the ACC champs lost their playoff spot to the Crimson Tide. Following the declaration, Mike Norvell expressed his disgust and outrage in a statement.

FSU is an unbeaten Power Five team that won two away non-conference games and is a highly worthy playoff contender. In response to the mistreatment, Mike Norvell stated, “I am disgusted and infuriated with the committee’s decision today to have what was earned on the field taken away because a small group of people decided they knew better than the results of the games.“
